About Somnath Banerjee
Somnath Banerjee, the founder of Bikquest Adventure, is a passionate cyclist, explorer, and endurance rider from Kolkata, India. A proud record holder in the India Book of Records, Somnath earned national recognition for his Kolkata to Dhaka international cycle ride in 2020, which he completed on International Language Day (21st February) — symbolizing unity, peace, and cross-border friendship between India and Bangladesh.
Over the years, Somnath has taken on some of the most challenging and inspiring journeys across India and abroad. His remarkable adventures include cycling from Phuket to Bangkok (Thailand) in 2022, Kolkata to Gujarat in 2023 with his son, and a tribute ride across Singapore in 2024 to honor Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose and the INA soldiers. He has also achieved major motorbike expeditions such as Kolkata to Ladakh (2019) and Ladakh to Kanyakumari, showcasing his relentless spirit of adventure.
His journey and achievements have been featured in leading newspapers and news channels, including The Telegraph, TV9, Zee 24 Ghanta, and ABP Ananda, earning him admiration and recognition in the cycling and adventure community.
Through Bikquest Adventure, Somnath aims to inspire people to explore the world on two wheels — promoting endurance, discipline, environmental awareness, and a love for travel. His rides are not just about distance, but about discovering new cultures, meeting people, and celebrating the unity of humanity.
